What does food have to do with sex? Some foods can stimulate sexual desire and emotions. However, there are some kinds of food that if you eat before having sex, it can reduce sexual desire and hormones.

Before having sex, you should avoid foods that can cause your sex power to drop so drastically that you can’t impress your partner during the activity. The foods that should be avoided are as follows:

  1. Fried and oily food

Not only it has lots of carbohydrates which are excess calories, but it is also rich in trans-fat and saturated fat from the frying process. It can cause sex hormones to decrease, cause obesity, reduce the efficiency of the circulatory system, and reduce sexual performance.

  1. Tofu / Soybeans

Although they have high protein, they can reduce male hormones or testosterone, leading to erectile dysfunction. Moreover, they can increase the estrogen level in blood vessels. This substance can reduce libido.

  1. Sausage

Sausage has high saturated fat which can block the arteries around the penis. It can obstruct blood circulation, eventually leading to impotence and erectile dysfunction.

  1. Steak

Although steak is rich in protein and zinc, don’t forget that in red meat, there are high saturated fat and cholesterol which will affect blood circulation and potency. If you eat steak before having sex, it will cause an unpleasant smell from the mouth affecting the attraction of your partner.

  1. Canned food

Canned food is high amount in sodium and low in potassium, which can lead to hypertension, causing irregular blood pressure throughout each organ. It even decreases blood flow to the penis which can later cause erection problem and premature ejaculation.

  1. Coffee / Caffeinated drinks

Caffeine in coffee will slow down pregnancy. Other caffeinated drinks such as energy drink will rush metabolism and reduce male hormones production.

  1. Wine / Alcoholic beverages

Though drinking wine can increase sex drive and help with erection, drinking too much can slow down the body’s sensation.  Also, drinking other alcoholic beverages can reduce the chance of pregnancy.
