How to choose the right sunscreen?

There are 2 types of sunscreens: physical and chemical, which have different skin protection mechanisms. Today, My Dear Mom will take everyone to get to know both 2 types of them.

  1. Chemical Sunscreen

It can prevent UV rays by absorbing into the skin. There are 2 types: oil-soluble and water-soluble. With its dissolving properties, it can be absorbed into the skin, both the epidermis and the dermis. But for this type of sunscreen, using a high SPF doesn’t mean it provides much protection. It depends on the situation that you are facing.

To use a chemical sunscreen, you must do as follows:

  • Apply sunscreen 30 minutes before exposure to the sun.
  • Sunscreen should be applied every 2 hours.

    2. Physical Sunscreen:

This type of sunscreen protects the skin by reflecting radiation and has the advantage of not causing heat on the skin. Therefore, it is gentle and less likely to cause allergic reactions than chemical sunscreens because the minerals are solid and do not absorb into the deeper layers of the skin.

To use a physical sunscreen, you must do as follows.

  • There is no need to wait. You can apply it and face the sun right away.
  • This type of sunscreen. If it’s a waterproof or sweat-proof formula, there’s no need to apply it often.
